HISTORY
Since its founding nearly a century ago, the ever-expanding family at ELYSEE has been committed to carrying out its mission to its fullest. We’ve enjoyed significant growth and prosperity, and have no plans to stop.
In 1920, Jacques Beafort, a watchmaker in a small town near Bémont founded his own watch manufacturing company under the name ELYSEE. Forty years later, ELYSEE was re-registered in the gold town of Pforzheim. As before, mainly mechanical watches were manufactured, but things did change. Under this new management, the first steps on the international stage were taken.
Reiner Seume acquired the trademark rights in 1991. In subsequent years, the watches of the collection were positioned in an entirely new way, particularly the men’s collection. Its design of the ’40s to ’60s are recognizable and remembered in a positive sense to the form and function in the art of time.
Four years ago, ELYSEE was repositioned by an independent marketing and advertising company, and aligned itself with racing legend Graf Berghe von Trips. Since 2007, we have drastically increased the production for German-made watches.
